Young Eritrean refugees who dream of the national football team in Sicily
They are immigrant children fleeing war, ruthless dictatorship regimes and slavery. They come from Nigeria, Zambia, Eritrea. In Sicily they are looking for a job and a better life. Some of them love to play football, they dream of one day reaching the national team. It is often the Eritreans who crowd the boats, along with the Somalis. They run away from a dictator, Isaias Afewerki, in power since 1993, who oppresses every space of personal freedom, who forces girls and boys to turn 18 to an endless military service, who as soon as he feels an air of dissent slams real or presumed opponents into prisons that are difficult to get out of alive. Everything is in the hands of the government. People's lives too.
