Catania Earthquake

At 03:19  on 26  December 2018  an earthquake lasting about 10-12 seconds with a magnitude of 5.0 (4.9 on the Richter scale) with its epicenter in Viagrande struck the following municipalities in the Etna area: Aci Bonaccorsi , Aci Catena, Aci Sant'Antonio, Acireale, Milo, Santa Venerina, Trecastagni, Viagrande and Zafferana Etnea. The shock was particularly felt in much of the province of Catania. So much fear and agitation among the populations of the municipalities who felt the shock, in which some damage was reported, including several injuries to some houses, the fall of rubble and some collapses between Santa Venerina, Aci Sant'Antonio and especially in Fleri , fraction of Zafferana Etnea, where there was the partial collapse of a building from which two people were extracted alive ,In total about 28 people were injured while at least 1,115 were displaced
